My name is James Belton & I am a self-confessed Excel nerd & a wine fanatic!
For the last 14 years I have worked in the global alcohol industry in a variety of senior commercial finance & strategy positions, helping organisations ranging from global corporations to start-ups; from suppliers, through distributors to retailers; across the UK, EMEA & the Americas.
I started Wineance Ltd to allow me to provide bespoke consulting services to the drinks industry.
Wine
My drinks industry experience has allowed me to pursue a number of sought after professional qualifications including the WSET’s prestigious ‘Level 4 Diploma in Wine & Spirits’ in 2016, as well as gaining ‘Certified Wine Educator’ status in 2017.
I have also been lucky enough to travel the world visiting wineries & production sites for business, & as an avid oenotourist in my leisure.

Finance
I am a CIMA-qualified Management Accountant with over 15+ years PQE.
I began my career working on ERP systems & databases before moving into commercial finance & putting my excel skills to the test building analytical models & tools for industry leading companies. I have held finance leadership roles, as Finance Director & Chief Financial Officer, for a variety organisations of different sizes & ownership types across the alcohol industry.
